TAPI PIPELINE PROJECT IN PAKISTAN
ENVIRONMENTAL & SOCIAL IMPACT STUDY.

  • TAPI Pipeline Company Limited (TPCL) plan to develop the TAPI Pipeline Project, a 1,814 kilometre (km) natural gas pipeline that will transport natural gas from the Galkynysh gas field in Turkmenistan through Afghanistan into Pakistan and then to India.
  • The pipeline will export up to 33 billion cubic meters of natural gas annually for a 30-year period.
  • Four separate ESIAs are being undertaken for the project; one for Turkmenistan, one for Afghanistan, one for Pakistan, and one for India.
  • TPCL appointed Naftec / MAB to undertake the project management and field work for the ESIA Project.
  • Naftec/MAB has contracted Jacobs to provide specialist environmental services, namely the desktop elements of ESIAs for the Afghanistan and Pakistan portions of the Project.
  • Naftec/MAB has contracted EMC Pakistan Private Limited as a National Consultant for conducting the field work and manage the permitting process.
